Job summary

A leading NHS trust in Greater London is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Upper GI Surgery. This role involves gaining experience in laparoscopic surgery and participating in complex hernia procedures. The ideal candidate should have full GMC registration, experience in Upper GI surgery, and good communication skills. The position offers exposure to a wide range of surgical cases and collaborative work in a multidisciplinary team environment, contributing to patient care and clinical training.

Qualifications

• Previous Upper GI experience, either benign or resectional.
• Competent General surgeon or equivalent.
• Experience of undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in laparoscopic benign UGI surgery and flexible endoscopy.
• Contribute to the care of emergency UGI presentations.
• Participate in complex hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction surgery.

Skills

Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team

Good communication skills

Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research

Education

Full GMC Registration and hold a license to practice

FRCS or working towards FRCS

Specialty qualification or higher degree (MD/MS/PhD)
