Senior Town Planner – Exciting Opportunity with a Leading Independent Consultancy

Location: West Sussex

A well-established independent planning consultancy is seeking a Senior Planner to join their dynamic team in West Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from large-scale residential and commercial developments to bespoke rural schemes.

The Role

As a Senior Planner, you’ll be responsible for managing your own caseload, preparing and submitting planning applications, and providing expert advice to clients and colleagues. You’ll play a key role in shaping planning strategies and delivering high-quality outcomes across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage planning submissions, including Planning Statements, Appeal Statements, and Local Plan representations
  • Provide professional planning advice across the business
  • Lead client communications and manage accounts
  • Contribute to proposals and tenders
  • Attend planning committees and professional events as required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
About You
  • RTPI-accredited degree and Chartered Membership of the RTPI
  • Strong technical understanding of planning processes and current issues
  • Experience in development planning or management, ideally in the private sector
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
