Job summary

A leading therapeutic care provider in the Northwest is seeking a Team Leader to support young people aged 8–17 with various emotional and behavioral challenges. In this role, you will be responsible for leading shifts, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of care and support. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 or 4 and over two years of experience in a children's residential setting. Qualifications

Location: Leyland | Pay: £14.50 / hr + £60 sleep-in | Shifts: 2 on / 4 off

About The Role

Your role :

As a Team Leader , you’ll play a vital role in leading practice on shift. You will mentor and support new team members, oversee day‑to‑day operations, and act as the key point of contact for reporting to higher management. You'll conduct staff supervisions, provide progress updates, and raise any concerns related to team or young person dynamics, advising when management intervention may be needed. You will act as a Key Worker where necessary, taking primary responsibility for the care and development of a designated young person.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the shift and ensuring high standards of care and conduct at all times.
  • Supporting care planning, assessments, and contributing to care reviews.
  • Organising and participating in educational, social, and recreational activities, including outings and holidays.
  • Liaising with external professionals and agencies alongside senior management.
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed record‑keeping, including delegating written tasks and signing them off as Team Leader.
  • Promoting best practices in line with the home’s Statement of Purpose (SOP) and company policies.
