Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by substance misuse and complex forensic histories? We’re looking for a Senior Support Worker to join a dedicated team at a well-established residential service in Liverpool, supporting male clients with a dual diagnosis background.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in substance misuse, mental health or forensic services to take a step up and play a vital role in both client recovery and team leadership.

The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the residential service, supporting individuals with complex needs including addiction, offending behaviour, and mental health.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of recovery‑focused care plans and risk assessments
  • Leading shifts and supporting junior staff
  • Promoting a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • Liaising with clinical teams, probation, and partner agencies
  • Supporting service users with reintegration into the community
  • Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
About You

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Previous experience working in substance misuse, forensic mental health, or a similar setting
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a trauma‑informed and compassionate manner
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people to turn their lives around
Location

The service is based in a well‑connected residential area in Liverpool, easily accessible by public transport.
