Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in the UK is seeking an experienced Associate / Senior Structural Engineer to join their Structures team. This role involves delivering high-quality structural designs for diverse projects, managing programme and sustainability objectives, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, chartered status or working towards it, and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Chartered or working towards IStructE or ICE.
  • 4+ years' experience as a Structural Engineer.
  • Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality structural designs using Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Produce calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Lead projects managing programme, cost, and sustainability objectives.
  • Carry out structural surveys and appraisals.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Review and support the work of junior engineers.

Strong technical knowledge of steel
Strong technical knowledge of concrete
Strong technical knowledge of masonry
Strong technical knowledge of timber
Confident using structural analysis software
Effective project management

Education

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (2:1 or above)
