Senior Structural Engineer – Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)

We’re working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer for their Manchester office. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the delivery of large-scale, technically complex structural projects across sectors such as defence, nuclear, public sector, highways, and industrial infrastructure.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality structural solutions, supporting junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who is looking to progress their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:
·Deliver structural designs to cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
·Support project leaders and contribute to the management of structural design teams.
·Ensure compliance with design standards, CDM regulations, and HSE best practices.
·Coordinate with clients and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
·Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers.
·Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in design and delivery processes.

About You:
·Chartered or near-chartered Civil/Structural Engineer (CEng MICE or MIStructE).
·Solid experience in structural design of building structures and foundations.
·Strong understanding of structural codes, standards, and design tools.
·Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
·Familiar with CDM regulations and health & safety responsibilities.
·Eligible for (or currently hold) SC security clearance.
·Full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience:
·Previous involvement in nuclear, defence, public sector, or complex infrastructure projects.
·Experience with seismic design, ground improvement techniques, or advanced structural analysis tools.
·Understanding of technical assurance processes and regulatory compliance.
