Job description

As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping DCC's strategic direction and lead our market intelligence capability. You'll work closely with the Head of Strategy, Director of Strategy, and senior leaders across the business—including members of the Executive Team and subject matter experts—to ensure our medium‑ and long‑term plans are informed by internal priorities and external market dynamics. While the role has no direct reports, you'll coach and support our Strategy Analyst and collaborate across functions to deliver impactful, data‑driven insights and strategies. What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery and communication of strategic materials across DCC, ensuring alignment and clarity on medium‑term priorities.
  • Design and implement a robust market intelligence approach, turning insight into strategic recommendations.
  • Produce regular strategic insight outputs—quarterly reports, deep dives, annual assessments—to support decision‑making.
  • Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance DCC's strategic influence and awareness.
  • Facilitate the development and refresh of functional strategies to ensure alignment with DCC's wider business objectives.
  • Coach and mentor the Strategy Analyst, fostering growth and impactful contribution.
  • Support ad hoc strategic initiatives with analysis, narrative development, and stakeholder engagement.

At the DCC, we believe in making Britain more connected, so we can all lead smarter, greener lives. That desire to make a difference is what drives us every day and it wouldn't be possible without our people. Each person at the DCC brings a special kind of power to the business, and if you join us, we'll give you the means to unleash yours. Here, we depend on each other and hold each other accountable. You have the power to challenge and make change, to take the initiative and enjoy real responsibility. Whether it's doing purposeful work, helping us grow or building the career you want—we'll give you the support to do it all. Our secure network for smart meters is transforming Britain's energy system and helping the country's fight against climate change: we want you to be part of our journey.

Company Benefits

The DCC's continued success depends on our people. It's important to us that you enjoy coming to work, and feel healthy, happy and rewarded. In this role, you'll have access to a range of benefits which you can choose from to create a personalized plan unique to your lifestyle.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience applying strategic and business analysis frameworks—ideally in regulated sectors such as utilities, government, or energy.
  • Strong understanding of the UK energy sector and a passion for the energy transition.
  • Exceptional communication skills—comfortable developing and delivering high‑quality reports, briefings, and presentations up to Board level.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; highly collaborative with a strategic mindset.
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities—project management and informal people leadership experience a plus.
