A leading energy company in the UK is seeking a Senior Solicitor to join their Construction and Commercial Legal Team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years PQE, experience in construction or utilities law, and the ability to provide pragmatic legal support across multiple projects. You will work closely with various teams to achieve objectives, ensuring high standards in legal advice and managing significant contracts. An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor to join SSEN Transmission's Construction and Commercial Legal Team working across a number of construction, engineering and commercial contracts and regulatory matters.
SSEN Transmission is the entity within the SSE Group responsible for the network of infrastructure which transports renewable energy from the North of Scotland to demand centres across the country. Working in partnership with National Grid, it also responsible for the build of subsea cables which will form part of this infrastructure.
SSEN Transmission's projects and infrastructure will play a critical role in enabling the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy and ensuring future energy security. This will enable home-grown and affordable energy to reach and power homes across the UK.
To be successful in this role, you'll be highly organised, delivery‑focussed and solutions‑driven with the ability to apply constructive challenge. You'll have a passion to work as part of a high performing team, sharing knowledge, best practice and supporting colleagues. You'll be confident and resilient in the approach to your work, legal skills and knowledge, and able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
