Senior Software Engineer – SC Cleared

We are working with a confidential defence-sector organisation seeking experienced Senior Software Engineers to join a growing UK-based engineering team. This is a customer-facing role suited to engineers who enjoy close collaboration with stakeholders and can quickly embed themselves within complex delivery environments.

The Role

• Join a high-performing engineering team delivering mission-critical systems
• Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand and manage requirements
• Contribute across design, development and integration of backend services
• Initially onsite 3–5 days per week in Farnborough, reducing to 2–3 days after the first month

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior or lead-level backend software engineer
• Strong expertise in at least one backend language, with a solid understanding of multiple languages and how they integrate
• Comfortable working in polyglot environments and with distributed systems
• Customer-facing experience – confident engaging with users and managing technical requirements
• Able to pick up new technologies and domains quickly
• Defence or secure systems background strongly preferred
