Role Summary

We are looking for a dynamic software engineer to join our Windows Fast-Track team. This role involves working closely with our support teams to investigate customer cases that they need to escalate, and experts in our Windows development teams. The successful candidate will have a passion for solving complex and challenging technical problems along with good collaboration and communication skills.

What You Will Do
  • Investigation of customer issues.
  • Collaboration between support and development teams.
  • Working with customers to resolve issues.
  • Develop and test prototype fixes in C++.
  • Windows crash dump analysis.
  • Coordinate production of Maintenance and Special Releases when software fixes are required to address customer issues.
Skills and attributes for success
  • To succeed in this role you’ll be passionate about providing Sophos customers an excellent experience. You’ll take pride in understanding complex issues and identifying pragmatic workarounds and where necessary code fixes to resolve issues quickly. You’ll feel at home within an Agile team with its open communications, pair programming, commitment to quality and focus on getting things “done, done”.
What You Will Bring
  • You'll be comfortable using tools such as WinDbg, SysInternals suite, Windows SDK/WDK, Windows Performance Toolkit, Wireshark, Microsoft Message Analyzer.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of Windows operating systems.
  • Analytical with an eye for detail, a natural problem solver with a continuous improvement ethos.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Desirable: experience with Windows drivers and kernel programming.
