Senior Social Worker

Are you a dedicated social worker with a passion for court work and long-term permanency planning? Birmingham Children’s Trust is proud to announce an exciting opportunity for experienced Senior Social Workers (SSW) to join our team as we celebrate our GOOD Ofsted status. About the Role

As a Senior Social Worker (SSW), you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality support to vulnerable children and their families. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, providing expert advice, and contributing to long-term planning for children’s care and permanency. Working within our dedicated team, you will have the chance to develop your skills further and progress your career in a highly regarded Local Authority.

Candidate Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Manage a diverse caseload involving court proceedings and permanency planning.
  • Deliver high standards of social work practice in line with statutory requirements and Birmingham Children’s Trust policies.
  • Lead on case planning, assessment, and review processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with partner agencies and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
  • Bring at least 2 years of post-qualification social work experience.
  • Passion for court work and children’s permanency.
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
