Senior SHE Advisor - Reading/Burghfield (On-Site)

Full-time site-based

Outside IR35

500- 600 per day (all in)

Security Clearance (SC) required - active SC preferred

Project Overview

A major design-and-build facility project near Reading, Burghfield, covering Programme Management, Construction, Building Services (M&E), Instrumentation & Control Systems, and external works. The project is transitioning from an active construction site into a hybrid live environment, with permanent services operational and commissioning ongoing. This creates a unique set of SHE challenges and requires strong behavioural leadership on site.

Role Purpose

As Senior SHE Advisor, you will support the contract SHE functions and provide practical solutions to operational teams, ensuring compliance with the SHE Management System. You will work closely with stakeholders and provide an independent view of SHE performance across the contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and influence the Contract Leadership Team, client stakeholders, and supply chain to maintain SHE performance in line with the SHE Management System.
  • Deliver or support SHE training to enable effective implementation of safety standards.
  • Coach operational teams and contractors to meet contract SHE requirements.
  • Support the assessment and performance monitoring of supply chain partners.
  • Drive delivery of annual contract and group SHE objectives.
  • Engage in the SHE assurance programme to ensure statutory and organisational compliance.
  • Lead investigations into unplanned events, close out findings, and share lessons learned.
  • Support timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to influence leadership and drive improvement plans.
Experience
Essential
  • Minimum 3 years' SHE-related experience
Desirable
  • 5+ years' SHE experience within a relevant industry (construction, infrastructure, M&E, or similar)
