A leading educational institution in Rochdale is seeking a Senior Science Technician to support high-quality practical science across A Level Biology, Chemistry, and Applied Science. The successful candidate will manage resources, prepare for practical lessons, and mentor a Science Technician Apprentice. Salary: Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine, Scale Points 36 £24,759-£25,558 per annum (Actual salary £21,939-£22,646, term time + 5 days)
Plus RA1 £792 (fixed term) for mentoring a Science Technician Apprentice
Contract: Full-time, permanent (37 hours per week, term time + 5 days). Flexible or part-time working may be available for the right candidate.
Start date: As soon as possible
This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality practical science across A Level Biology, Chemistry and Applied Science at Rochdale Sixth Form College. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure practical lessons run smoothly, safely and efficiently, enabling students to achieve their full potential.
You will also line manage and mentor a Science Technician Apprentice, supporting their professional development with guidance from the faculty leadership team.
