A healthcare trust in the UK is recruiting a Senior Rotational Pharmacy Technician for their Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy. The role involves managing pharmacy activities, dispensing medications, and providing counsel to patients. New graduates in pharmacy are encouraged to apply, as on-the-job training is provided. We are recruiting for a Senior Rotational Pharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This role could be ideal for newly qualified accuracy checking technicians who want to work in a busy and dynamic hospital pharmacy. Applicants with a retail pharmacy background are welcome to apply for this post as on the job training will be provided for all aspects of the role. Any new qualified technicians without an Accuracy Checking qualification or NVQ3 will be considered for this post and a Band 4 to Band 5 developmental plan will be offered.
You will be responsible for the day to day activities within the pharmacy department at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy such as general dispensing, drug distribution, chemotherapy desk, patient counselling and associated pharmaceutical duties.
In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata.

The post holder will be responsible for dispensing and checking of in-patient prescriptions and systemic anti-cancer treatment. You will provide routine technical pharmacy support in a professional manner which supports a high quality, patient orientated service. The successful candidate will participate in the purchasing of drugs and drug distribution activities. You will be responsible for running of the Chemotherapy desk and dispatching of chemotherapy orders to wards and day units in a timely manner. You will also partake in stock control activities such as expiry date checking, stock counting and replenishing the emergency cupboard, fulfilling to-follows, conducting expiry date checks and replenishing emergency boxes as required.
