Overview

We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will provide a professional, efficient and customer focused service whilst rotating between Dispensary, Homecare, Purchasing and Distribution at Royal Brompton Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to progress within pharmacy, as this role provides a good foundation in various vital sectors within pharmacy. We work closely with our counterparts at Harefield, Evelina, Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospital Pharmacies to ensure our patients get the best possible treatment for their lung and heart conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Rotating through Dispensary, Homecare, Purchasing and Distribution, providing support to Pharmacy at Royal Brompton Hospital.
  • Undertaking accurate dispensing of prescriptions for in-patients and outpatients.
  • Interacting with other staff and patients both in person and over the telephone and working quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Responding to telephone and face-to-face enquiries of a routine nature from patients, their representatives, members of the public, homecare providers and a wide range of staff groups, and referring queries to the relevant member of the pharmacy team when necessary.
  • Participating in ward and department topping up and ensuring appropriate stock rotation.
  • Processing homecare invoices using the Epic homecare module.
  • Filing and saving documents to patient records.
  • Collecting data and producing invoices for private patient medication.
  • Assisting in the coordination of day-to-day administration in the Pharmacy Homecare Hub and Income Team.
  • Receiving and checking deliveries.
  • Ordering stock from suppliers and processing invoices from suppliers.

  • The successful candidates will have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work to a high standard within the team or on their own initiative.
