Job description
Lead Radiographer – Plain Film/Fluoroscopy

We are looking for a dedicated, skilled Band 6 Radiographer to work within our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Aintree University Hospital and the North Liverpool Community sites.

Responsibilities
  • Produce high‑quality radiographic images with the minimum radiation dose to patients and staff.
  • Supervise and support a team of radiographers, imaging assistants, student radiographers, assistant practitioners and radiographer apprentices.
  • Coordinate the clinical team, performing imaging examinations at a consistently high technical and professional standard.
  • Support the Band 7 Lead Radiographers in day‑to‑day activity within the X‑ray department.
  • Assist with development of Band 5 Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners, ensuring compliance with department protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure QA, preventative maintenance and breakdown records are maintained.
  • Participate in audit, research and presentations.
  • Maintain correct patient records and statutory radiation records.
  • Observe and report breaches of the Local Rules on Radiation Safety to the Senior RPS/RPA.
