Senior Quantity Surveyor – Highways / Asset Maintenance

Permanent | Up to £60,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Benefits

Cheshire / North West | Hybrid

The Opportunity

A leading national infrastructure and highways services provider is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major long‑term highways asset maintenance contract. This is an urgent requirement and interviews will be held in December.

You will play a pivotal role in closing out claims efficiently and providing expert commercial support across pre‑ and post‑contract phases. This is an excellent chance to join a Gold Investor in People organisation that actively invests in your career development and progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial activities across the contract lifecycle, from pre‑tender through project delivery.
  • Prepare accurate and timely commercial reports and advise senior management on key financial metrics.
  • Manage budgets, cost forecasting, risk registers and change control processes.
  • Oversee contract administration, supply chain procurement and subcontract management.
  • Negotiate and finalise claims, compensation events and final accounts.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior Quantity Surveyors and commercial team members.
About You
  • Minimum 5 years’ post‑qualification experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
  • Strong background in Highways or Asset Maintenance contracts.
  • Proven track record in closing out claims promptly.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and ideally working towards professional membership (RICS, CIOB, ICES).
  • Able to start within 1 month and live a commutable distance from the Cheshire office.
