Overview

Job Purpose: To manage project budgets in order to achieve commercial targets, while providing full commercial support to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, train, and develop the project's commercial resources.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Procure subcontractors and agree subcontract conditions.
  • Exercise commercial control over subcontract packages.
  • Value and agree the cost of variations.
  • Produce monthly cost, value, and reconciliation reports for each assigned project.
  • Prepare build-up costs for estimates, including labour and material requirements, and obtain quotations where required.
  • Liaise with purchasing/buying teams for specialist suppliers.
  • Attend internal project handover meetings.
  • Provide feedback to Business Development on tender values versus actual costs.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice to the Project Manager.
  • Undertake other duties or projects as required, within the scope of knowledge, experience, and competency.
Essential Criteria
  • Extensive experience in joinery, new build and fit-out projects at Senior Surveyor level.
  • Proven ability to work with subcontractors, clients, and their representatives at a senior level.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline.
  • Strong commercial drive and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel, including to UK sites as required
