Qualifications

  • Proven experience in rail or large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C/E preferred).
  • Track record of providing clear and accurate commercial reporting and advice.
  • Ability to manage commercial teams and support project leadership effectively.
  • Skilled in procurement, contract preparation, cost forecasting and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client relationship skills.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major rail infrastructure scheme. The project will deliver significant enhancements to the local network, including the construction of two new stations, extensive earthworks, structure renewals and replacements, and new permanent way along a previously disused line.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Acting as the commercial lead for a geographically focused team, providing expertise and guidance to support project delivery.
  • Producing accurate and timely commercial reports, forecasts, and advice for the management team.
  • Managing all commercial aspects of the contract, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place and commercial targets are achieved.
  • Supporting the bid team during pre-contract stages and throughout delivery.
  • Preparing and pricing contracts, overseeing procurement, and ensuring best value solutions.
  • Working closely with design and delivery teams to drive cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities in line with company and client processes.
