Job description

A1 Personnel are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting both existing and new aerospace programmes. This is a senior, customer-facing position with responsibility for driving a Right First Time, Every Time culture across the business and leading quality excellence throughout the manufacturing process.

You will act as a key interface between the shop floor, management, suppliers, and customers, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards while mentoring and leading the quality team to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve quality control across all stages of manufacturing in line with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing environment (internal, supplier, and customer)
  • Lead investigations into non-conformances using proven methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, RCCA, and CAPA
  • Identify recurring quality issues and provide clear recommendations to the Chief Inspector
  • Monitor and report key quality KPIs including scrap, rework, NCR status, and PPM figures
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) using tools such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP
  • Conduct internal audits and support the ongoing development of the Quality Management System
  • Represent the Quality function at cross-functional meetings and customer reviews
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across products and processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business growth and improvement projects
  • Promote and embed a Right First Time philosophy throughout the organisation
