Job summary

A specialist engineering firm in the Newcastle upon Tyne area seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to provide quality management support and to maintain ISO 9001 accreditation. The ideal candidate will possess lead auditor certification, significant experience in quality management, and a deep understanding of processes in engineering. This role covers internal and external audits, compliance with quality standards, and facilitating quality training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quality management with a strong foundation in ISO 9001.
• Experience in complex engineering and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to facilitate and conduct training on quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality support and advice to all business functions.
• Review and update the quality management system regularly.
• Manage internal and external audit programmes.
• Identify gaps in quality requirements and implement closure methods.
• Support supplier onboarding through new supplier audits.

Skills

Significant experience of quality management

Excellent understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes

Proficient report writing and metric generation skills

Strong MS Office knowledge

Knowledge of project management processes

Education

Diploma in Quality Management

Lead Auditor (IRCA Registered) in ISO 9001

Knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001
