Overview
UKR Group is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to start ASAP in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily running and organisation of site activities from pre-start through to handover.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and direct labour in line with programme and budget.
- Act as the key point of contact with clients and design teams, maintaining strong relationships.
- Ensure all works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.
- Develop and manage short-term programmes, with ASTA experience considered advantageous.
- Work closely with the wider project team, including surveying, design and procurement, to drive successful outcomes.
- Support and develop junior team members, providing mentorship and guidance.
- Assist the Contracts Manager as required in the overall delivery of projects.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, reporting and financial control.
- Monitor risks, resolve issues and implement solutions to maintain programme and cost certainty.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry regulations and statutory requirements.
Skills
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience of client-facing roles.
- Proven capability to manage subcontractors and direct labour effectively.
- Sound commercial awareness with a clear understanding of budgets and cost management.
- Proficient in project planning and programme management (ASTA knowledge desirable).
- Ability to foster collaborative working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Black CSCS card and SMSTS certification.
- Significant experience in a senior management role within the construction industry.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering projects successfully, on time and to budget.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, contract administration, and industry best practices.
- Relevant academic or professional qualifications in construction management or a related discipline.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.
- Must have 2 checkable references.
