Job description
Overview

Royal London is a Financial Services company with a difference. As the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, we're owned by our members and work for their benefit, not for shareholder profits. We've grown rapidly and have been recognised as one of the UK's top rated places to work. Royal London has over £170 billion of assets under management, and around 4,000 employees working in five offices across the UK and Ireland. We are experts in specialist markets with a trusted brand and plenty of awards to show for it.

AMS is a global workforce solutions partner committed to creating inclusive, dynamic, and future-ready workplaces. We help organisations adapt, grow, and thrive in an ever-evolving world by building, shaping, and optimising diverse talent strategies. We partner with Royal London to support their contingent recruitment processes, acting as an extension of their recruitment team and connecting them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.

Role and Assignment

On behalf of our client, Royal London, we are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) Client Group for an initial 6-month contract based in Plymouth or Edinburgh or can be remote with an occasional travel to Plymouth.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager (SPM) to join Royal London at a pivotal time in the integration of the Equity Release Advice function, which is aligning with Wealth Wizards. This is a unique opportunity to shape and define a new change approach for a heavily paper-based business model that is preparing for a significant transformation programme. You will play a critical role in designing, planning, and initiating a transformation roadmap—bringing clarity to an evolving function and supporting the integration of IT, HR, and adviser processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the initial transformation planning phase, shaping how the change function will operate and estimating timelines, resources, and delivery approach.
  • Assess current manual, paper-based processes across Equity Release Advice and propose solutions for modernisation and efficiency.
  • Work with senior leaders to define the change strategy, aligned with Royal London\'s change management approach and Wealth Wizards\' digital developments.
  • Provide guidance and structure for HR process alignment, adviser onboarding, and IT integration.
  • Support the implementation of digital journeys while ensuring alignment with Royal London governance and ways of working.
What We\'re Looking For
  • Proven track record as a Senior Project Manager/Change Leader within financial services, ideally with experience in lending, equity release, or advice-based businesses.
  • Strong expertise in transformation and change programmes, particularly in building functions from the ground up.
  • Experience of business processes, digital transformation, and reducing reliance on manual processes.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, third parties, and large adviser networks.
  • Excellent understanding of HR, IT integration, compliance, and adviser onboarding processes.
  • FS or insurance background.
