A leading engineering company in the East Manchester area is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to manage continuous improvement projects in a large manufacturing site. The role combines both office and hands-on work, mentoring junior engineers. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in lean manufacturing and CI tools. Attractive salary of up to £50,000 plus benefits.

Overview

Senior Production Engineer. Up to 50K plus Benefits. East Manchester area, commutable from Oldham, Droylsden, Hyde, Manchester, Ashton-under-Lyne, Stockport, Rochdale. 37 Hours 8AM-4PM Monday-Thursday, 8-3.30 Friday.

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer/Production engineer, with experience of running continuous improvements projects looking to work on a large manufacturing site with progression available?

This role will suit an ambitious candidate who would like to work in a senior role whilst remaining hands on. You will be responsible for managing improvement projects focusing on areas such as layout, automation and waste.

A multi million pound investment in improvements has already been improved so this will be an exciting time to implement the CI projects.

The Role
  1. Full Time permanent role on a large manufacturing site
  2. Managing continuous improvement projects in the manufacturing environment.
  3. Combination of office based work with shop-floor based work
  4. Mentor junior/apprentice/graduate production engineers
The Person
  1. Academic/working background with manufacturing/engineering. This could be degree, HND, City and Guilds, apprenticeship or be more lean focused
  2. Extensive working experience of leading lean/continuous improvement projects
  3. Experience of CI tools-8D, FMEA, kaizen, DMAIC etc.
