Job description

As Senior Product Manager I in our Open Access team, you will drive constant improvement of the customer experience whilst delivering increased business effectiveness for our strategic and fast-growing Open Access business model. Our ambition is to be the market leader in terms of researcher and agreement partner open access workflows: you will have scope to innovate new and better experiences for both our individual researcher and institutional customers. The ideal candidate brings strong digital commerce experience, a passion for the customer journey and the confidence to advocate for data-backed decisions with stakeholders. You must be able to work independently and adapt to evolving priorities. You should be comfortable with complexity. Your hypothesis-driven approach-testing, learning, iterating-will be key to managing risks and driving continuous innovation. Collaboration is essential, as you'll work closely with UX, engineering, data teams and a network of business stakeholders to deliver impactful results that enhance our customer experience and fuel business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the discovery and delivery of improvements to our Open Access workflows, both online and offline, for our individual researcher (B2C) and institutional (B2B) customers.
  • Review product data, customer feedback, the competitive landscape and work with internal and external stakeholders to identify product opportunities.
  • Formulate problem statements and define hypotheses that you test through experimentation and iteration.
  • Build a prioritised and innovative discovery/delivery roadmap that works towards outcomes aligned to business value.
  • Drive the product lifecycle, from planning to release.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with other product managers, analysts, user experience experts, engineers, business stakeholders and customers alike.
  • Have delivered complex products and/or services in a B2B and B2C ecommerce environment.
  • Highly developed customer empathy, balanced with business and commercial focus.
  • Deep experience of the end-to-end product management lifecycle, from understanding user needs to conceptualisation to execution to post-release management.
  • Self-starter: ability to work independently, adapting your approach as required.
  • Ownership of development and career.
Benefits
  • Generous holiday allowance with the option to buy additional days.
  • Health screening, eye care vouchers and private medical benefits.
  • Wellbeing programs.
  • Life assurance.
  • Access to a competitive contributory pension scheme.
  • Save As You Earn share option scheme.
  • Travel Season ticket loan.
  • Electric Vehicle Scheme.
  • Optional Dental Insurance.
  • Maternity, paternity and shared parental leave.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Access to emergency care for both the elderly and children.
  • RECARES days, giving you time to support the charities and causes that matter to you.
  • Access to employee resource groups with dedicated time to volunteer.
  • Access to extensive learning and development resources.
  • Access to employee discounts scheme via Perks at Work.
