Senior Procurement Officer – Head Office, Whitchurch

Are you ready to shape the future of procurement in an organisation that makes a real difference? We’re looking for a proactive and strategic Procurement Manager to lead the development and continuous improvement of our procurement policies and processes.

In this key role, you’ll ensure compliance, efficiency, and value for money—helping us deliver the best possible lives for the people we support. Working closely with operational leaders, support teams, and external partners, you’ll optimise procurement practices, reduce risk, and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day procurement operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Oversee tendering, bidding, and supplier selection processes to ensure transparency and value for money.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships for quality and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor budgets, track spending, and identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and support audit requirements.
  • Provide procurement advice to internal stakeholders and promote best practices.
  • Lead and mentor team members, fostering professional development.
  • Continuously review procurement systems and stay updated on market trends and regulations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Extensive experience in a senior procurement role within a large, multi‑site organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK procurement legislation and compliance standards.
  • Proven expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and driving process improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Business Administration or related field and/or Professional membership or working towards certification (eg CIPS Level 4 or above).
  • A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
