London | £55,000 - £70,000 | Building Services Consultancy

I'm currently working with a well-established building services consultancy based in London that is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.

The consultancy delivers high-quality mechanical and multi-disciplinary building services solutions across a varied project portfolio, with a strong focus on client relationships, technical excellence, and project ownership.

Role

You’ll be responsible for managing and delivering mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion, acting as a key client‑facing contact and ensuring projects are delivered to a high technical standard. At Principal level, you will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the strategic development of the mechanical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mechanical building services projects from inception to completion
  • Lead mechanical design, including calculations, specifications, and reports
  • Act as a client‑facing representative, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Coordinate with internal and external multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Oversee project delivery, programme, and technical quality
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards
About You
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
  • Strong experience within a building services consultancy environment
  • Proven experience managing projects and dealing directly with clients
  • Comfortable operating at Senior or Principal Engineer level
  • Excellent technical knowledge across mechanical building services systems
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Working towards or holding IEng / CEng status is advantageous
