Job summary

A leading ecological consultancy in the UK seeks an experienced Ecologist to drive biodiversity outcomes through ecological assessments and habitat design. The role involves delivering Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, managing projects, and mentoring junior staff. Ideal candidates will have robust botanical skills, knowledge of biodiversity legislation, and GIS competencies. This position allows for a hybrid working pattern and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an ecologist with strong botanical skills.
  • Ability to deliver Biodiversity Net Gain assessments effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence is mandatory.

Job description

You will get the exciting opportunity to shape and influence ecological outcomes on a range of development and nature recovery projects across the UK. In addition you will take ownership of assessments, habitat design, and project delivery in a collaborative environment.

What you will need
  • Proven experience as an ecologist, with strong botanical and protected species survey skills
  • Ability to deliver Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and ecological project management
  • Membership of CIEEM or equivalent, with chartership achieved or attainable
  • Full UK driving licence

Your experience
  • Strong knowledge of biodiversity legislation, policy and good practice

  • Experience producing high-quality ecological reports and monitoring plans
  • Project management from bidding through to completion
