Overview

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering engineering, surveying, and design services across the UK and internationally. They are now looking to appoint a highly experienced Senior Surveyor to lead the delivery of surveying projects from concept to completion. This role offers the opportunity to manage a wide range of land and engineering survey projects while mentoring a growing team and contributing to the ongoing success of a respected organisation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage land, topographic, engineering, and geodetic surveys
  • Supervise survey teams across field and office operations
  • Liaise with clients to understand requirements and ensure high-quality delivery
  • Produce accurate technical outputs including drawings, models, reports, and specifications
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and health & safety protocols
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior team members
  • Utilise modern equipment and software for survey data collection and processing
Technical Requirements
  • Strong experience using:
    • Total Station / Robotics (e.g., Leica, Topcon)
    • GPS/GNSS systems (Smart Rover)
    • 3D Scanners (Trimble, Faro, or Leica)
    • Drones (DJI Mavic E3 - preferred)
Proficient in
  • AutoCAD or Revit
  • Trimble RealWorks
  • Recap, Scene, and PIX4D (preferred)
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in land or engineering surveying
  • Demonstrated experience managing survey teams or departments
  • Degree-qualified in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar
  • Chartered status (e.g., RICS, PLS) or working toward it
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities
  • Confident communicator with proven client-facing experience
  • Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment is desirable
