Overview

Think Recruitment are currently working with a market leading engineering consultancy who, due to continued growth, are looking to recruit an experienced Civil Engineer at either Senior or Principal level.

Our client are a real forward thinking organisation who have built an amazing team over the past 10 years, delivering a variety of interesting and technically challenging projects for clients across the UK. They are looking for a Civil Engineer to take a lead role in the technical responsibility for civil engineering design delivery and act as Project Manager / Design Manager for the consultancy services, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead role in the technical responsibility for civil engineering design delivery and act as Project Manager / Design Manager for the consultancy services.
• Assist with the development of fee proposals & bids, and new project lead generation.
• Manage project change control and negotiate fee variations with clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and provide proactive problem solving advice; consult with clients, other staff members, and statutory bodies including Building Control, NHBC, Planning Authorities, Highway Authorities, Environment Agency, Statutory Undertakers, etc.
• Utilise various software programs (Civils 3D, PDS or Site 3D, Microdrainage or Flow and AutoCAD) and maintain high technical standards consistent with the project design brief.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations and drawings; develop concept designs; and be actively involved with all projects under direction.
• Undertake site visits associated with inspections and/or site investigation works.

Qualifications / Skills

• Proven background in consultancy or a related field.
• Experience in civil engineering design and delivery in a consultancy environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Software proficiency: Civils 3D, PDS or Site 3D, Microdrainage or Flow, AutoCAD.
• Ability to develop concept designs and prepare technical reports, calculations and drawings.
