What you will do:

• Undertake assessments under the Children Act 1989 and 2004, identifying risks, needs, and strengths within families.
• Develop and implement care and safeguarding plans in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
• Lead and participate in child protection conferences, looked-after children reviews, and statutory meetings.
• Carry out Section 47 child protection enquiries and ensure timely interventions to safeguard children at risk.
• Prepare high-quality reports and court statements, attending court as required to represent the local authority.
• Manage a defined caseload, ensuring all work is completed within statutory timescales and in line with practice standards.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in health, education, police, and other agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children.
• Promote the participation and voice of children, young people, and their families in care and safeguarding planning.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records using electronic recording systems.
