Description

Marrons’ Nottingham office is looking for Senior/Principal/Associate Planners to join their team. These exciting opportunities offer the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, from urban regeneration schemes to strategic planning initiatives, while collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and fellow professionals to achieve successful outcomes.

You will be responsible for:
  • Leading the development and implementation of planning strategies and policies to support sustainable growth and development across the UK.
  • Managing planning applications, appeals, and consultations in accordance with relevant policy, legislation and best practices.
  • Conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, and impact assessments to inform decision‑making processes.
  • Engaging with local communities, businesses, and government agencies to foster positive relationships and address planning‑related issues.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on planning matters to clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Drafting Planning Statements, Planning Appraisals and Statements of Case in support of planning applications and planning appeals.
  • Monitoring legislative changes, emerging trends, and best practices in planning and urban planning to inform decision‑making and strategy development.
You will need:
  • previous experience in a Planning role (ideally from within local government, consultancy or development industry)
  • a relevant Planning qualification (or working towards one)
  • membership of RTPI or working towards membership
  • an understanding of the planning process and systems
  • excellent writing skills with a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner
  • ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently
  • drive, commitment, enthusiastic and a team player approach
