Job description

Kier is currently involved in a major energy project in the South West (Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset), delivering reinforced concrete, bulk earthworks and infrastructure on one of the UK’s largest projects. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our team. You will need experience on large, complex projects such as Hinkley, MEP experience, knowledge of the RIBA design process and management of subcontractor programmes. Primavera experience and any 4D Planning experience are required.

Location: Bridgewater, Somerset

Contract: Permanent, Full Time – Hybrid working is available.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Planner, you will work within the Nuclear Major Projects team, supporting a major energy project that delivers nuclear‑grade reinforced concrete and infrastructure on one of the UK’s largest projects. Your day‑to‑day activities will include:

• Creating programmes from first principles, utilising M&E schedules, drawings and specifications.
• Integrating subcontractor programmes into a single programme.
• Auditing subcontractor programmes for robustness.
• Updating and monitoring progress within the programme against contract requirements.
• Introducing and analysing changes in programmes according to prescriptive NEC conditions.

Qualifications & Expectations

This role is ideal for someone with:

• UK NEC contract‑based planning experience.
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete frame building techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with Impact/Delay Programmes.
