Overview

A rare and exciting opportunity has opened for a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and well-established Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team.

In this rewarding role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting patients with neurological conditions, delivering high-quality therapy in the places that matter most to them – their own homes, residential settings, and nursing homes. You will provide specialist physiotherapy interventions tailored to individual needs, working closely with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Together, you’ll empower patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals, improve independence, and enhance their quality of life.

Beyond direct patient care, you’ll contribute to service development and share your expertise to continually raise standards across the team. Responsibilities
  • To undertake advanced physiotherapeutic assessment and treatment of patients, who have a complex and/or chronic presentation. Use advanced clinical reasoning skills to determine individualised treatment programmes and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To hold own caseload of patients referred. Taking responsibility for accepting and discharging these patients and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. Assess and treat own caseload of patients within the community or outpatient setting providing patient centred interventions.
  • To provide and co‑ordinate postgraduate development to less experienced staff and clinical placements for student physiotherapists.
  • To assist with delivering training programmes to ensure that professionally qualified, professionally unqualified staff, other members of the MDT and carers, are optimally competent to deliver appropriate care to patients.
  • Assist in service evaluation and development.
