Overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join the Community Rehabilitation Service. The Senior Physiotherapist role is based in Peterborough and the surrounding area. You would be working as part of a community-based therapy team providing high quality rehabilitation to patients with physical disabilities in their home environment. This post will allow the successful candidate to consolidate their community, clinical and managerial skills. You will be working within a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistants, and alongside Nursing and Mental Health colleagues. Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county. You will need a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not reliable and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is able to work as an autonomous practitioner within the integrated multi-professional Community Rehabilitation Service to provide a high standard of care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan and develop specialist physiotherapist programmes for patients with a wide variety of complex needs.
  • Manage your own caseload, prioritising referrals according to clinical need, signposting appropriately and undertaking assessment of patients with complex and multiple pathologies using advanced, specialist clinical reasoning skills.
  • Supervise junior staff and students, overseeing patient intervention and ensuring that Therapy Assistants deliver high quality patient care.
  • Be actively involved in teaching and supporting Therapy Assistants to achieve competencies.
  • Be accountable for a delegated caseload held by Therapy Assistants.
  • Prioritise all referrals according to clinical need and allocate or signpost appropriately.
  • Provide a high standard of care.
  • Work in various community settings, including lone working, with access to Clinical Leads when required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist with experience in community rehabilitation settings.
  • Ability to work autonomously within an integrated multi-professional team.
  • Experience supervising staff and students and supporting Therapy Assistants to achieve competencies.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care with active involvement of patients and carers in decision making.
  • Valid full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle to travel around the county.
