Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the medicines procurement functions, including liaising with suppliers, other departments and external customers.

  • Support the pharmacy supply chain manager
  • Coordinate the operational management of the Pharmacy Procurement & Homecare service
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained, escalating where necessary
  • Supervise and line manage staff
  • Ensure implementation and management of contracts
  • Actively develop the Procurement and Homecare service

This post will liaise with external organisations to facilitate timely reimbursement processes where the supplier has not been able to honour current contractual agreements. We are looking for someone who is able to show initiative, is helpful and approachable, organised and can work accurately with good IT, problem solving and communication skills.

You will have previous experience in an administrative role in a similar environment, with a willingness to work in other areas within pharmacy when required. There will be a commitment to support the stores area daily.

  • NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or National BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent nationally recognised qualification plus accredited underpinning knowledge
