Job description
Overview

Senior Nuclear Medicine Practitioner/ Radiographer. Actively involved in all aspects of technical work required for imaging, non-imaging, in-vitro counting, therapeutic and radiopharmacy procedures. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within Nuclear Medicine, consisting of admin and clerical staff, technologists, radiographers, nurses, physicists and clinicians. The post holder may rotate through all areas of the department including radiopharmacy and PET-CT. They will work without supervision and participate in the supervision of more junior qualified and unqualified staff. Flexible working practices within the department require that all staff work as a team to ensure that daily workload is fully covered.

The post holder is expected to organize the workload, provide guidance to junior staff and liaise with senior technologists, medical, nursing and secretarial staff as necessary. On occasion, the post holder may be the most senior practitioner in the department and will be expected to act as the daily operational lead for the department.

Qualifications and Experience
  • HCPC registered or eligible for the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT).
  • Experience in diagnostic Nuclear Medicine, Radiopharmacy and PET-CT is desirable; not all areas need to be fully demonstrated on appointment.
  • Ability to work without supervision and to supervise others.
  • Flexibility to rotate through department areas as required.
