A leading medical communications agency in Tonbridge is seeking a part-time Senior Medical Editor with the opportunity to transition to full-time. The candidate should be a high-calibre graduate with a minimum of 4 years of editing experience in medical communications. Established in 2000, mXm is an award-winning medical communications agency, with a strong client list of international blue-chip healthcare companies.

As part of a programme of planned expansion of our Editorial department, we are now seeking to recruit a part-time Senior Medical Editor (approx. 24 hrs/week) with future scope to transition into a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Review, edit, style, format and proofread a variety of deliverables, including (but not limited to) manuscripts, congress materials (abstracts, posters, symposia slides) and advisory board reports
  • Check accuracy of manuscripts, abstracts, slide decks and other deliverables against source materials
  • Support uploading and management of materials on various client databases, including Veeva
  • Assist with other aspects of project work as required, as part of the overall mXm team
Desired background and skills

We are looking for high calibre graduates in order to maintain our strong reputation for excellence. The individual must have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to at least a degree level, ideally in the life sciences
  • Previous Editor experience in medical communications is essential (minimum 4 years)
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure content meets mXm’s stringent quality standards in terms of scientific accuracy, style and consistency, and fully in line with agreed client’s brief
  • A good understanding of industry guidelines e.g. ABPI code, GPP guidelines
  • A proactive, positive, energetic and self-motivated attitude
Terms

The basic salary is fully competitive with industry standards and dependent on previous experience.
