  • Create, develop ideas and maintain designs as an experienced SolidWorks 3D CAD user in-line with the project key milestones and Quality System requirements

  • Experienced in designing for plastic injection moulding/mass production

  • Creation of technical specifications, construction design up to verification and documentation according to process from feasibility setup to the final unit

  • Definition, Implementation and Integration of interfaces within and beyond the mechanical area in an instrument and system context

  • Participation in the definition of work packages, their estimation, planning, and implementation in a sprint-based agile environment, in close collaboration with product owners, scrum master, architects, and developers

  • Perform detailed engineering analysis, including tolerances, FMEA, risk analysis and DFx

  • Use appropriate methods to perform mechanical analysis and test of designs to achieve robustness in operation and production in-line with user needs

  • Support Design Transfer to operations and support the operations units in all aspects regarding manufacturability. Provide expertise in materials (e.g. housing) and related production processes, such as injection molding

  • Support of the product after launch during the whole life cycle of the instrument incl. root cause analysis of field and production issues regarding mechanical modules

  • Close cooperation with operations units, e.g. for design transfer or in the context of product care activities

  • Collaboration with experts in different subject areas and departments, as well as leadership in a project team of less experienced team members and particularly external development partners

Who you are - to be successful in this role:
