Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (M/F)

You will be part of an international, collaborative, and creative team, passionate about developing groundbreaking propulsion technology.

Founded in 2017, ThrustMe is a pioneering space technology company specializing in advanced propulsion systems for small satellites. We are global experts in satellite propulsion, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit mobility for the expanding satellite industry. Our clients across the US, Europe, and Asia trust us to design and deliver high-performance propulsion systems. We made history with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems in 2019 and 2020. Currently, we are experiencing rapid growth, with over 300 systems ordered to date.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our diverse team. You will be responsible for designing mechanical components of propulsion systems, ensuring they withstand extreme thermal, vibration, and shock environments.

As part of the Product Development Team, you will work at the intersection of research and manufacturing, transforming concepts into flight-ready systems that shape the future of space propulsion. Join us and be part of an international, innovative, and passionate team.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Design mechanical components of propulsion systems and subcomponents.
• Tackle complex design challenges in extreme environments.
• Bridge research and production to create flight-ready systems.
• Work efficiently in a fast-changing environment.
• Collaborate effectively within a team that values innovation and problem-solving.

Skills and qualifications:

• Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturing (CNC).
• Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing prototypes.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience in requirement-heavy industries (aviation, space, nuclear, automotive, etc.) is a plus.
• Fluency in English.
