Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Dungannon Full–Time Competitive Salary DOE
41.5 Hours per Week Permanent

MCS Group are pleased to be recruiting exclusively on behalf of our client, a leading global manufacturer of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Dungannon area.

With over 400 employees across global sites, this innovative and well–established business is committed to delivering high–quality, bespoke engineering solutions to the aviation sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced design professional to take a key role in the development of world–class products used by international airlines and airport service providers.

The Role:

• Design and develop bespoke GSE products including vehicles, lifts, and related metal components
• Produce high–quality 3D models, technical drawings, cut lists and documentation
• Carry out structural and stress calculations, tolerance assessments, and select materials
• Prepare technical documentation including design reports and specifications
• Liaise with production teams to support manufacturing and resolve design issues
• Drive improvements to existing designs and support continuous development
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and Health & Safety procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design within a metal fabrication environment
• Strong CAD skills – ideally SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Excellent technical drawing skills
• Strong IT and communication skills
• Well–organised with the ability to prioritise and problem solve under pressure

Desirable:

• Experience with vehicle design, screeners, crushers, or trailers
• Knowledge of type approval, hydraulics and electrics
