A leading educational institution in the United Kingdom seeks a Marketing Strategist to develop and lead marketing strategies for its Services for Business unit. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with various stakeholders to strengthen brand awareness and engagement with industry partners. The University of Leeds aspires to become one of the most business-connected and entrepreneurial universities in the UK, where partnerships with industry are central to shaping research and education.
Our core offering includes contract research, consultancy, professional learning, and our innovation hub, Nexus. These services play a vital role in connecting businesses with the University's expertise, talent, and facilities to drive innovation and growth.
This role is part of the University's Strategic Marketing Function with close alignment to the Business Engagement service.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing for Business Engagement, you will be responsible for developing and leading the University's Services for Business marketing strategies that drive awareness, collaboration and ongoing engagement with industry and external partners.
You will be required to be self-directing, working closely with the Head of Marketing for Business Engagement, the Director for Business Engagement, and the Nexus Director, as well as colleagues across the Research and Innovation Service (RIS), the University Communications team, and faculty stakeholders.
Working collaboratively across the Business Engagement marketing function, you will develop integrated campaigns and event strategies that support our brand, strengthen our position in the market, and enhance the experience for business partners.
This role supports key targets and metrics around brand and reputation, and income generation. The initial focus will be on developing and implementing our industry value proposition across key customer touchpoints and channels, ensuring our 'hero' services – including Nexus – have strong, compelling propositions and pipelines for growth.
This is a matrix team and will require you to work collaboratively and interchangeably with other marketing leaders, adapting and sharing resources depending on changing strategic focus and areas of opportunity. This also means there may be a requirement for occasional weekend and/or evening working.
