About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Manager for Government Affairs in the United Kingdom who will engage in UK policy, budget, and legislative environments and support efforts to monitor and influence policy and budget environments for NATO. The role supports national security and civil government interactions, working with legislators, ministers, and policy shapers at the national level in the UK, and engaging with NATO policy shapers through national delegations. The position will attend conferences and meetings with stakeholders and government officials. The right candidate understands the UK government system, including parliamentary procedures and committees, and how Planet’s capabilities meet the needs of national security and civil society.

This role requires close coordination with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to communicate effectively with Planet’s customers, potential government funders, NGOs, partners, and team members worldwide in a dynamic, high-growth environment. Planet’s services are novel, and the role involves educating stakeholders about the commercial aerospace opportunities and identifying short-term opportunities for Planet.

This is a full-time position based in the United Kingdom.

Impact You’ll Own
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the UK policy community across national security and civil society
  • Support engagements with NATO national delegation leadership to shape policy and funding opportunities
  • Communicate Planet’s value proposition to the UK audience, designing and synthesizing new analyses rather than copying existing approaches
  • Collaborate with Planet’s government affairs, business development, and sales teams to develop approaches to capture opportunities in the UK and NATO ecosystems
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the private and public sectors in the United Kingdom

  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a high-growth, commercial company
  • Ability to work with organizations across diverse sectors
  • Ability to travel to London up to 5 days per week
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Direct and recent experience in London with UK public institutions (e.g., Parliament, HM Treasury, UKSA, DSIT, Ministry of Defense, NATO)
  • Direct and recent experience in space/data policy or national security technology policy
  • Experience drafting white papers or position papers
  • Experience forming partnerships within the space industry to advance shared priorities
Benefits
  • Paid time off including vacation, holidays, and company-wide days off
  • Employee Wellness Program
