Senior Management Accountant

Location: Tower Hamlets, London

Hours: Full Time

Salary: £55,000-£65,000 (dependent on experience)

About Our Client

They are a forward-thinking GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care and innovative services to their community. They are looking for a skilled Senior Management Accountant to join their team and play a key role in shaping their financial strategy and supporting sustainable operations.

The Role

As Senior Management Accountant, you will provide accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strategic advice to support decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with Practice Managers, GP Partners, and Directors, you will ensure compliance, manage budgets, and help them achieve financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Analyse variances and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor NHS and non-NHS income streams and manage PCN funding.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS financial regulations and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Advise on cost efficiency and funding opportunities.
About You
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in management accounting or financial management.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate financial information clearly.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
Desirable
  • Experience in primary care, healthcare, or NHS finance.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Knowledge of GP Practice funding streams and NHS contracts.
