Overview
We are working with a Not-for-Profit in Birmingham on an exclusive basis to recruit a Senior Management Accountant. This role is paying £50,000 - £55,000 per annum.
A Not-for-Profit that has been based in Birmingham for over 100 years.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Support the Finance Director with the implementation of a new finance system.
- Develop financial modelling to support budget holders, inclusive of the Executive Team and Board of Trustees.
- People manage a small team.
- Be responsible for VAT and Tax queries for the charity.
- Assist the Finance Director with identifying new ways of working and implementing improvements of processes.
- Support with funding bids for the charity.
- Provide support to colleagues in other departments with the provision of financial information as required.
- Deputise for the Finance Director.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CGMA/CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with at least five years of post-qualification experience. Part-qualified or qualified by experience will also be considered.
- Ability to lead on and produce monthly management accounts.
- A track record of working with non-finance budget holders.
- Knowledge of partial exemption and VAT would be desirable.
- Previous experience working on a finance system implementation would be helpful.
- Unrestricted and restricted funding would be advantageous.
- High standard of literacy and numeracy - Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent) level.
- Computer literate on MS Office and payment/finance systems.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work effectively at all levels and contribute as a member of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works well under pressure and to deadlines.
- Understands the importance of good internal and external customer relations.
- An excellent eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
