Job description

We are seeking a motivated Senior Maintenance Engineer (Manager Designate) to support the effective maintenance and reliability of production equipment and facilities. This hands‑on role offers structured training and development in preventative and reactive maintenance, process improvement, and planned maintenance systems, giving you the technical skills to excel in a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, utilities, and site facilities.
  • Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and documentation within the maintenance system.
  • Help identify root causes of breakdowns and assist with long‑term corrective actions.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve performance.
  • Participate in installation, commissioning, and improvement of new or modified equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during all activities.
Qualifications
  • Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (apprenticeship, HNC / HND, or degree).
  • Practical experience in industrial maintenance, ideally automotive.
  • Strong technical ability with a hands‑on approach and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, fault finding, and preventative maintenance.
  • Good IT literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and awareness of health & safety practices.
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and eager to develop into a leadership role.
