As part of our dynamic Construction & Procurement Law Department, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from the RWE Offshore Wind Legal Team and work with other departments to deliver holistic, seamless legal support for offshore wind projects worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Be a key legal partner for international procurement, construction, and operational activities in RWE’s Offshore Wind business across the globe.
  • Advise, develop, draft, and negotiate a wide range of high-impact contracts supporting every phase of offshore wind projects, including:
    • Turbine supply agreements
    • Foundation agreements
    • EPC(I) & turnkey contracts
    • Component purchase agreements
    • Service agreements
    • Maritime logistics contracts (e.g., BIMCO)
    • And more
  • Serve as the go-to legal advisor for project teams and business partners; coordinate in-house and external legal experts to deliver pragmatic, cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee all contract-related legal matters within your portfolio; proactively advise senior management on risks, claims, and disputes.
  • Support dispute resolution processes, including collaboration with outside counsel when necessary.
  • Champion standardisation and process improvements to streamline how we work and maximise legal impact.
  • Engineer tailored, innovative solutions for complex, high-value projects requiring a creative approach.
  • Build strong, cross-functional and cross-cultural relationships—work with legal and business colleagues across regions and throughout the broader RWE Group.
Qualifications
  • Team player with motivation to work on international projects alongside international colleagues.
  • Qualified lawyer with a proven track record and strong legal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction law, with eagerness to develop expertise in energy or procurement law.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer or in-house counsel (ideally 5 years in construction and procurement law for renewables, especially on international projects).
  • Ability to manage priorities, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and take on new responsibilities.
  • Strong commercial and technical acumen with a strategic approach to supporting industrial projects from a legal perspective.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a solution-driven and positive mindset.
  • Highly engaged; capable of independent work and thriving within cross-functional teams.
  • Full fluency in English (other languages a plus); comfortable working in multicultural, global teams and willing to travel as needed.
  • A willingness to contribute to high-profile, complex renewable energy projects and transactions shaping the future of offshore wind.
  • Openness to varied and stimulating work that contributes to the global green energy transition.
  • A positive, dynamic, and supportive work environment that values collaboration and innovation.
  • Flexible working hours and location arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to join an international team of passionate colleagues within RWE.
  • An open culture that values ideas and empowers positive change.
  • Room to grow: extensive opportunities for personal and professional development within RWE.
