Job Description:

Senior Legal Counsel

Location: East London

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic and operational legal support across the UK & Ireland, with a focus on commercial contracts, governance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical legal advice to senior management and business stakeholders.
  • Manage legal risk and ensure timely legal involvement in key matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, R&D, licensing, supplier, and tender contracts.
  • Oversee relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Develop and deliver training on legal and compliance risks.
  • Support corporate governance for UK & Ireland entities.
  • Collaborate on regional legal projects with wider EMEA teams.
  • Deputise for the Director of Governance, Risk, Compliance & Legal as needed.

Requirements:

  • Law degree or equivalent (including conversion route).
  • 2+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Background in healthcare preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contract and corporate law.
  • Self-motivated, decisive, and collaborative.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Able to manage a varied and high-volume workload.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK & Ireland.
