Senior Land Surveyor - Drone Training Available

Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £40,000 + Van + Overtime + Benefits

We are currently working with a specialist surveying consultancy who are looking to recruit a Senior Land Surveyor due to continued growth across rail and emerging non-infrastructure sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor seeking genuine progression, with the added benefit of full Remote Pilot (Drone) training provided by the company.

The business delivers a wide range of geomatics and topographical services nationwide and is investing heavily in drone‑led surveying technology. The successful candidate will join a growing team of 40+ survey professionals, working across major rail environments and diversifying into commercial and private development projects.

Senior Land Surveyor Position Overview
  • Undertake land, topographical and measured surveys across rail and non‑infrastructure projects
  • Process survey data and produce drawings, 3D models and reports
  • Carry out GPS, GNSS and total station work to accurately capture site information
  • Operate drone‑based surveying systems following full training and certification
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure high‑quality outputs
  • Assist with junior surveyor development and best practice on site
  • Extensive UK travel, including hotel stays as required
  • Overtime available and paid
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company and industry safety standards
Senior Land Surveyor Position Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' Land Surveying experience
  • Competent using total stations, GPS/GNSS and modern surveying equipment
  • Experience producing 2D and/or 3D drawings (AutoCAD or similar)
  • Willingness to undergo full drone/remote pilot training (no prior drone experience required)
  • Happy to travel extensively and work occasional nights away
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
