A leading public-sector organisation based in the UK is seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to join their mission-led engineering team. This remote role involves developing high-availability Java-based services and microservices for a major digital transformation project. Candidates should have experience with modern Java technologies, including Spring Boot and AWS, with the opportunity to mentor junior developers. The position offers a contract rate of up to £575 inside IR35 for an initial 4 months.

Contract Role- Up to £575 inside IR35 (4 months Initially)
iO Associates is working with a leading public-sector-backed organisation on a major digital transformation programme. Their platform is responsible for managing and distributing billions of pounds of innovation funding each year, and they're expanding the engineering team to support a series of new initiatives, including increased automation, improved security, and the exploration of AI-driven solutions.
They're now looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a collaborative, mission-led team building and supporting a large, high-availability platform used across the UK.
You’ll play a key part in developing Java-based services and microservices, contributing to a system that runs 24/7 and is deployed via containerised, zero-downtime releases on AWS. This is a hands‑on engineering role within a modern Scrum team where you’ll design, build, test, and support production‑ready software.
You’ll also have the chance to mentor junior developers, influence development standards, and contribute to system improvements that enhance performance, security, and user experience.
